ELEVEN victims of the legionella outbreak at Melbourne Aquarium
will share $450,000. (AU)
The class action is the second of its kind after 144 people successfully
sued the aquarium and its contractors this year.
Each of the 11 people caught Legionnaires' disease after visiting
the aquarium in April 2000.
The outbreak, caused by the aquarium's cooling towers, killed four
people and affected more than 170.
Justice Bill Gillard ordered the victims be paid $450,000, which
includes $98,000 legal costs
